Do I have to install software to use Mogiv?   Link

No, the beauty of Mogiv is that there is nothing to download and no software to install. You can seamlessly integrate the Mogiv platform into your organization’s website via an iframe (just copy and paste a few lines of code).

Do I have to be a nonprofit organization to use Mogiv?   Link

Yes, Mogiv is only available to organizations who have a 501(c)(3) designation.

How much does Mogiv cost?   Link

All you pay are merchant fees for any transaction donated - there are no setup, subscription or support fees. The fees are charged through a merchant account that is set up for you when you open a Mogiv account. Mogiv’s processing fees are as follows: for donations made via debit card or credit card: 2.9% + $0.70; for donations made via ACH payment: 1.0%+ $0.45. Additional fees apply for donations made with American Express. Mogiv also offers optional SMS keyword giving. Keywords are $5.00 per campaign per month. Outbound SMS messages are $0.03 each. Is there a monthly transaction minimum?   Link

In order to keep merchant fees as low as possible, we ask our customers to process at least $800 per month in donations. This requirement is waived for the first 90 days. After 90 days, organizations processing less than $800 per month will be charged a $25.00 monthly fee.

How quickly will I receive funds that are donated to my organization?   Link

Gifts from your donors are processed and accounted for in real-time, meaning you can track them through our donor management software as they come in. Funds from debit card and credit card transactions are typically available within 48 hours. ACH funds usually settle within 4 or 5 business days.

Can I create year-end statements for my donors through Mogiv?   Link

Yes! Our robust reporting suite allows you to export reports at any time, including year-end giving statements that you can send to your generous supporters.

Can I designate funds to different projects?   Link

One of Mogiv’s best features is the ability to create an unlimited number of “campaigns.” With these campaigns, you can have donors give directly to specific needs, such as building projects, a benevolence fund, etc. You can track and report on each campaign separately, and can communicate directly to donors who have given to each campaign. Is there a limit to how much someone can donate via email or text to give?   Link

No! There is no transaction limit for gifts made via email or text message. Since the funds are processed by Mogiv, and not the cell phone company, your donors can be as generous as they like!

My organization already uses a church management system. Can I still sign up for Mogiv?   Link

Is Mogiv available to organizations outside of the United States?   Link

Unfortunately, no. We hope to be expanding internationally soon, but – at least for now – we require a US-based bank account for all of the organizations we work with.

How Secure is Mogiv?   Link

Mogiv has been rated PCI Level 1 Compliant. Our system meets or exceeds all applicable rules and regulations imposed by governing state and federal law, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express, collectively governed by Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI / DSS). How do I create an account to give to the church or nonprofit that I support?   Link

Giving through Mogiv is done on the websites of the organizations who use our platform. The website you’re on currently is only used to access accounts after they have been created. In order to give for the first time, simply go to the website of the organization you are trying to support. Find their giving button or page. Once you have located their giving form, just enter your gift and click the button that says “I Don’t Have An Account.” We’ll walk you through the rest of the process from there!

My funding source failed for one of my scheduled gifts. I’ve fixed the funding source. Will Mogiv retry the failed gift or do I need to manually give the failed gift again?   Link

Mogiv will not retry the failed gift on your behalf. If you wish to give in place of the missed scheduled gift, you will need to initiate that gift again.

How do I update the mailing address I have on file?   Link

Your mailing address is associated with your funding source. To update your mailing address, login to your account, click on “Funding Sources”, and then click the “Edit” button next to the funding source you wish to update. Here you can update your mailing address. Note that you will need to re-enter the payment details at the same time.

I have a new email address. How do I update my information with Mogiv?   Link

Your default email address is your Mogiv username. If you want to switch to a new address, we can do that for you. First, add your new address using the following process:

  1. Log into your Mogiv account and click “Settings”. From there, under “Contact Options” click “Add Email”.
  2. Click the activation link in the email that you’ll receive from Mogiv.
  3. Once you have added your new email address, send an email to support@mogiv.com letting us know which address you want to be your new default address. Once we have made this change for you, you can then delete your old address if you desire.

How long will it take a donation to show up on my bank account or credit card statement?   Link

Generally, a donation made using a credit card should show up on your online statement the same day or next. A donation made using your bank account (ACH) should show up within 2-5 days. Remember, each financial institution is different and processing times vary from bank to bank.

How do I get a list of donations I have made?   Link

Log into your Mogiv dashboard and click “Giving History.” From there, you can view or print reports of your giving history through Mogiv.

How do I update my credit card or bank account information?   Link

Log into your Mogiv account and click “Funding Sources.” From this screen you can either edit your existing funding source(s) or click “Add New” to create a new one. If your funding source is connected to a recurring donation, you will be given the option to update that recurring donation as well.

How do I stop a scheduled gift?   Link

You can stop a scheduled gift anytime you'd like by logging into mogiv.com and clicking “Scheduled Gifts.” Simply click “Remove” next to the scheduled gift you'd like to delete.

What documentation do I get from Mogiv for income tax purposes?   Link

You can get a year-end report by logging into your dashboard and clicking “Giving History”. From that screen click the “Year-End Giving” link and choose which year you would like to view. Note that any official documentation for income tax purposes will need to come from the organizations to which you gave.
