Reaching the Lost - Sharing the Love of Christ
This month we had the opportunity to assist several families. Cynthia Parra and her three children Damari (14) Saul (11) and Alan (5) were one of these families. Cynthia dropped out of school after the 9th grade and had her first baby when she was 15 years old. Five months ago her husband was arrested and put in prison for several years. This family has no extended family in the area to support her and just last week she was able to find a very low paying job! During this difficult period, a local church provided what they could with their extremely limited resources. We helped this family with a huge delivery of groceries and cleaing supplies. This will hold the family over until she starts to see steady income from her job.
We have been presented with other families in similar circumstances however more donations will be needed to assist. Please consider donating. 100% of your donation comes to us, you will get a receipt for tax purposes.
Over the next few months MCM will be providing large food runs for families with young children and their mother has been abandoned is a widow or the husband is simply not able to provide. These children are at high risk of being turned over to orphanages. This Saturday May 16, we will help a widow with 2 young girls. Church pastors have more families living in impoverished conditions that they have requested our assistance. Please consider a donation so we can help these families.
In January we will be traveling to southern Oaxaca to visit the Huave community. They have their own dialect and support themselves by fishing. Nearly the entire population lives in huts. The Bible has been translated into their language. There is one church, pastored by Cerilo Ponce. The tiny facility they have is inadequate. We hope to make a financial contribution so they can compete the larger structure. They have the labor and expertise to do all the construction. They need help with the materials as the tithes are very small. Please consider donating so we can bless this wonderful people group.
Pastor Vega needs a pick up truck! His 1990 Ranger is on it's last legs, requiring constant repair and expense. MCM would like to purchase a newer truck for him. Please consider donating to help with this expense!
The Pornography conference is on track for Saturday June 21 at the Lo Mejor del Trigo (the Best of the Wheat) church in east Tijuana. We will have seeral hightly qualified speakers addressing this topic to church pastors and leaders. Event is open to everyone. Spanish highly recommended.
The Mexican Christian Mission will be focusing on helping a pastor build a church to reach out to the people in Zona Huave in south Oaxaca. These indigenous people speak a language totally different than Spanish. We will help by providing funds to build the church then conduct a major outreach event. Someone donated a copy of the Jesus movie made in THEIR language! We are also looking at helping plant a church in another indigenous pueblo in the neighboring state of Chiapas. Please pray about supporting us. We need as many as possible to step up to the plate and contribute. For less than 5K we can build a church building of brick to handle over 250 people! For those who enjoy supporting our efforts to provide for very needy families. There are several in Tijuana, including one of Pastor Quintero who has a special needs daughter. We need some funds to continue that support! Please pray and do whatever you can. Your contributions to MCM go a VERY LONG way (due to very low administrative expenses and no one on salary)!
Huge success the event in Matatan last week. Thanks to everyone for your support over the recent weeks that made this possible. OVER 1/2 of the town showed up in the plaza, 400+ were treated to hamburgers, music, games, and the gospel. The people were estatic, NO ONE has ever come there and provided this type of treat for the community. The first Christian church is now operating with a full-time pastor and his lovely wife and cute 2 year old girl! We blessed this pastor with a cash donation and a huge food run to get them started and hold them over until the tithes get to where they can be supported. We will keep you all posted on the progress.
We are back in San Diego already planning a wide range of activities. PLEASE keep the support coming! God bless you all, Stephen Motz
This little town is located about 75 miles SE of Mazatlan. Maybe 1,000 people live there and most work in the drug fields. The Mexican Christian Mission will be there Sat Feb 9 along with a pastor from Tijuana to celeberate an all-day event. Our goal is to share the gospel with everyone and start the church the next day. Please pray for us as this area is monitored by the Sinaloa drug cartel, it is a source of labor for them. If you have not donated lately, this would be a great time, we want to help with some of the start-up costs of the church.
We will be helping kick off a new church near Rosario Sinaloa, in a drug infested town where there is NO christian church. We will have an all day event featuring games, music, a BBQ and a Bible message in the morning and film at night to initiate the church. The pastor and his wife are in Sinaloa preparing everything. Many people in this area are involved in drug cartels. They urgently need to hear about Jesus. A major drug trafficker was saved at our event in October near Los Mochis. These people can be reached and will respond to the love of Christ! Please make a donation to support this needed work.
This week we helped Veronica Gomez. She is the oldest of 4 children, 2 other girls and 1 boy. Both their parents died about 8 years ago in seperate circumstances. Veronica has taken up the roll of mother, father and sister! She recently had a baby and has not been able to work. MCM provided this lovely family with plenty of groceries and cleaning materials to hold them over until she can return to work. The other children are still in school and too young to work.
Last week we helped another family with 2 girls. The father, Allen, was laid off about 5 months ago. He has been unable to find work although it now looks like he will have something around Jan 1. The family has been surving on whatever donations a local church can provide. The children lost weight etc. MCM stepped in and helped this family with a very large grocery delivery. Both girls broke down in tears of joy, realizing their need and never haven seen such a large supply of food! It was a moving experience!
Your donations are making all of this possible!
Pastor Alejandro Quintero is 63 years old and has diabetes. His wife died about one year ago. His oldest daughter, Damaris (age 36), has a serious mental disorder in which she thinks and acts like a 3 year old. She also has some physical problems and is confined to the bed. She has to use diapers and requires constant attention. His next oldest daughter, Susana (age 34), stays at home full time with Damaris. The tithes and offerings that are recieved at Pastor Quintero's church are not even close to what the pastor needs. The Mexican Christian Mission will be blessing this family this week with diapers and lots of food items and cleaning materials (detergant, shampoo, soap, those items). Your donations are enabling us to give this wonderfull man of God some real "breathing room". Please keep your support coming as we want to help Pastor Nunez move into a house much better suited for his wife suffering from Multiple Sclerosis.
